This is my sign that Spring has finally arrived. I love, LOVE, LOVE tulips. I can honestly say that this love is fairly new….say, oh, about 7 years old. Hmmm….funny, that coincides directly with my move to the MIdwest from California. That is right about the time that I had the distinct frustration, I mean pleasure, of experiencing all four seasons….including Winters that go right on into April.
The California in me wants to bust out the flip flops in February….but not so much.
So…back to the tulips. When I see them, my insides fill with sunshine. And I know, I know way down deep, that Winter is gathering up all of her snowflakes, her ice chips and her frost…and heading into hibernation. And that is heavenly news to this warm-weather girl.
Now…if I were to ask my better half for his sign…it looks a little bit like this:
For the love of my life…it is the crack of the bat, the smell of peanuts and cracker jacks…and the sweet sound of ‘Take me Out to the Ball Game.” (And for him, it doesn’t get any better than passing on his love of the game to our sweet kiddos)
Now finally, we have our two signs together….which means the little ones are finally getting back outside! This past weekend was Delaney’s first game of the season (she is finally coming to terms with her fear of adults in costume) She had a blast….despite the disappointment of failing to catch a foul ball.
So….now that we all have our signs…we’re heading outside!
PS….Thank you to all the recent posters who recommended I add more pictures…it has spurred me on to learn something new (how to resize and upload!) Enjoy!
