I’ve talked about it before, but it needs to be said again. And again. And again. No child in this country should go hungry. Not for a day, a week or a month. And if my talking about it means there is just ONE child who gets the sustenance they need…. I’m going to talk, and talk and talk.
In the past I’ve partnered with Con Agra Foods and the Con Agra Foods Foundation to fight this epidemic, and I’m doing it again. This year, the Con Agra Foods Foundation is working with Share Our Strength on the No Kid Hungry Campaign. It is just what it sounds like…. people like you and me pledge our commitment to make sure that no child in America is hungry.
The goal? To END child hunger by 2015. That is four years from now, people. We can do it.
I just spent two days in Dallas, Texas learning more about the program, and the many ways some remarkable people are changing lives one meal at a time….
Over 21 Thousand people have taken the No Kid Hungry pledge already. You can help in so many ways…. donating an hour of your time, donating food – or better, even a few dollars. A food bank can do more with your money than you can…. keep that in mind when you are deciding how to help.
Coming soon: What is Cooking Matters? And how is it helping thousands of families around the country to save money, shop smarter, learn to cook and serve nutritious food? The answers soon!
I’m also delighted to share, that as part of this campaign – the Con Agra Foods Fondation has donated $1000 in my name to Operation Food Search in St. Louis, in support of local Cooking Matters classes.
THANK YOU, CON AGRA. I am both proud and grateful to be a part of this program.
As part of this campaign, I am being compensated for my time, but, as always, the opinions and writings you see on my site, unless otherwise clearly indicated, are my own.
