My priorities in life are set firmly behind these smiles.
That means I care for their hearts, their minds and their health.
It also means I must care for my own – not only as the role model they need, but quite honestly, because I’d like to be around for them as long as I can.
What does that look like? As someone who has always been both fairly active and conscious of the food I eat, when something goes awry in my system, I recognize that I must dig deeper. For the better part of 2016, my body is, well, fighting me.
That means I’m required to fight back.
One of the first steps I have decided to take is breaking up with sodium and I’m talking about both my reasons why and my experience over on #BreakUpWithSalt – the American Heart Association’s initiative to help us eliminate the gross amount of sodium we consume – both knowingly and unknowingly.
One of the first things I did was take the pledge to reduce the amount of sodium in my diet. And by proxy….I’m reducing the amount I feed my family – most specifically, my small people. Friends, I’m leading by example.
I’m happy to have partnered with them to share tips to get you started with a positive outlook, lifestyle and the ways it is making a difference for me.
I’m so looking forward to hearing your thoughts and the ways you seek to break up with sodium, to take care the best care of you and your family.
