There are days when I REALLY know I’m a mom.
Today is one of them. I crouched down in front of Cooper to have a heart-to-heart about his listening skills (or lack thereof). He looked me straight in the eyes….took a deep breath…closed his eyes and SNEEZED. Directly in my face. Not a dry sneeze, by the way. My face = soaking wet with toddler snot and spittle.
I laughed. Because, really, what else can you do? I am certain there was a time in my life that I might have lost my mind to get a full-force projectile of toddler ‘stuff’ in my face, but not now. Now, I know it is just part of the job. Just like all the other bodily-fluid stuff. (You don’t need me to walk you through the options, I know)
In my pre-child days, I never could have imagined laughing in the face of snot, but now…it just gives me a another stripe on my mommy arm band. Proves I have the chops for this career. Who knew?
