Every year I start thinking about New Year’s resolutions.
Every year, I even go so far as to write them down.
Inevitably they include many of the same things year after year:
This year, I will truly transform my eating and exercising – I will be healthy. (Pardon me as I head to the kitchen to break this one already – sometimes soda just tastes good, dammit)
This year, I will get organized – stacks of papers will no longer appear to drown my desk.
This year, I will find a place for all of my 100’s and 100’s of pictures.
This year, I resolve to devise a new system to tackle my ‘To-Do’ lists.
This year, I will save more and spend less.
Same old, same old. I’m ditching the old lists.
OK…so, what if, this year, I work on my resolve…and tell you, my real New Year’s Resolution, is that I am resolved to stick to my resolving….. I think it just might work.
But here is the good news: I still have 21 days to come up with my list. I have always believed that my birthday is my own, personal New Years. So, on the 21st of January, when I turn 29, I mean 30, I mean 30-something-ish, I will have my list ready. I’ll even share it with you…that way you can keep tabs on my resolving.
