While my small people were out of school for the Summer, we made one amazing bucket list as a family. It included heading to a concert (done), going on a hike (we’re making this a Fall item!), getting out of an Escape Room (done) and spending some extra time in the kitchen cooking together.
Why do we love to cook together? Well, I love it because I’m teaching them life skills, improving their palate, getting them involved in the meal process and it is great together time.
Sure, when they were little, we loved to bake…but now that they are a little older, we’ve moved in to meals and appetizers and I love to take advantage of the freshest summer foods.
Right now, I’m over on HeHEALTHY ESSENTIALS® sharing our favorite Summer Guacamole recipe and a few tips I have for keeping my kiddos safe while they are in the kitchen with me. It certainly can’t be a free-for-all. I need to teach them how to use the tools correctly, and of course, to be safe while they are impressing me with their skills and creating culinary masterpieces.
And yes, having the right safety equipment near by, is a must.
Hop on over to HEALTHY ESSENTIALS® to visit me, and definitely jot down our super-easy (and delicious) Guacamole recipe.
Can’t wait to hear what you think.
