Disclosure: I’m thrilled to be partnering with my friends at Pillsbury to share these Family Bake Night Recipes with you. As always, all thoughts and opinions are mine and mine alone.
When my small people were truly small – and not the teenagers they are now – setting aside family time was simple. It came in the form of regular family dinners and quality time celebrating each season – from apple picking to pumpkin patches, from weekend stay-cations to relaxing by the pool. Even time spent on the sidelines of one of their sports felt like family. But once school starts, though we welcome some of the structure, we know studying, sports, school activities and yes – teenage social lives – tend to fill many of the hours we used to be able to set aside to connect.
Now, in order to have those magical family moments, we put it on our schedule. Tucked between Varsity Softball Games and Homecoming, in and around basketball, homework and back to school nights – you’ll find us carving out time to spend together and connect as a family.
Days like today, National Family Day, inspire us to create these sweet moments together….and our friends at Pillsbury ™ have an idea we think you are going to love: Family Bake Night. Since we know your time, like ours, may be limited, we wanted to make it both easy and fun.
In our house, the kitchen is the heart of the family. It is where we often gather to start the day, catch up on each’s others highs and low, do homework, sing, dance and laugh through our frustrations and celebrations and yes, create the sweetest of treats.
Here are two sweet desserts you can make together.
